The Department of International Relations is located within the Faculty of Political Sciences at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.
The Faculty of Political Sciences was established as the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences by the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 201272734 published in the Official Gazette dated 08.03.2012. By the decision of the Council of Ministers numbered 2016/8555 and dated 16.02.2016, in accordance with Article 30 of Law No. 2809 dated 28.03.1983, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences affiliated with Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Rectorate was renamed as the "Faculty of Political Sciences".
The Department of International Relations admitted its first students in the 2018-2019 academic year and graduated its first students in the 2022-2023 academic year. The educational activities of the department are conducted entirely in English.
Our Mission
The mission of the Faculty of Political Sciences Department of International Relations (English) undergraduate program is to become one of Turkey's leading departments in the field of International Relations. We aim to produce students who possess current and universal knowledge in the field, are proficient in English and at least one other foreign language to meet professional requirements, share the educational environment with students and faculty members from other European countries, uphold professional ethics, and are aware of their public responsibilities.
Our Vision
The vision of the Faculty of Political Sciences Department of International Relations (English) undergraduate program is to be a highly recognized program in the field of International Relations. Our priority is to be a preferred department for developing original research skills, acquiring proficiency in foreign languages for professional purposes, and gaining international recognition. The fact that all department courses are conducted in English, along with the inclusion of languages such as Russian, French, and Spanish in our curriculum, enables us to coordinate with national and international education programs. Effectively engaging a significant number of our students in student exchange programs conducted in collaboration with universities in European Union member countries is another element of our department's vision.
